2025 and we are off!!!

Friday May30th 2025. After a very pleasant evening in the marina we were up early this morning getting ready to set off for our summer cruise. Fill up with water, empty the rubbish and check all ok on Lindylou. Met up with Paul and Heather at the first lock and off we went. We made very good time even though all the locks were against us. Just got to the last swing bridge before the Rowbarge pub ( and thinking of a nice pint) when an almighty bang and the engine stopped!!!!! Down the weed hatch for Steve as a BIG chewed up log appeared from under the boat 😟. the rest of it was stuck fast on the propeller!! out with the sledgehammer and screwdriver (which he dropped in the canal for the canal gods) and after a few swear words and a lot of banging we were free. 😀. On to the pub moorings which were very quiet so room for both our boats. Nice pint and bowl of chips. 😊 Staying here for couple of days so we can sample the Sunday roast.
