Hi all, we had a very good roast at the Row Barge pub on Sunday and a walk to the garage to top up with milk ect. The sun was shining and the cuckoo was singing so we untied and set off. We had a slight electrical problem on Hydeaway so decided to stop at Aldermaston chandlery for new parts to repair it. All sorted and working now. 😀. The canal is very quiet, not many boats moving. Lots of baby ducks, moorhens, swans and geese.

We moored in Theale for Monday night and walked into Theale ( 3 pubs in the high street, ). and had a wander around the high street (and a pint). It was a wonderfully quiet mooring for the night.

Tuesday raining, so set off a bit later. We still got soaked !!🤣. The locks are in shocking condition with bits hanging off and leaking really badly. Burghfield lock has one paddle broken and the other taped up 😳. it took 4 of us to open it. Now moored up at Fobney lock next to the nature park. I think they have taken no mow May a bit far here, check the pics!!
